Ramón Valle, piano

Pianist and composer Ramón Valle has been living in Amsterdam for several years. He was seven when he began studying piano at the Escuela Nacional de Arte in his hometown of Holguín, Cuba. He later completed his advanced studies at the Escuela Nacional de Arte in Havana. He made a name for himself at jazz festivals in Mexico, Bogotá, and Havana. Following the release of his debut album *Levitando* in 1993, the renowned Cuban pianist and founder of Irakere, Chucho Valdés, declared Ramón Valle “the greatest talent among our young pianists.” The original composition *Levitando* has since become a well-known Cuban folk song around the world.
