The young recorder player Lucie Horsch was only twelve when she was already studying at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. So it’s clear that Lucie is brimming with talent. But she herself says she’s also been very lucky. Her father, Gregor, is the principal cellist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. So she grew up with music from a very young age. Now, her mission is to introduce as many young people as possible to music.
Lucie has been in love with the recorder and Baroque music her whole life. When she started playing the recorder, everyone thought she’d switch to another instrument after a few years. But she just couldn’t get enough of it. She has, however, been combining her recorder playing with piano and singing for several years now, which she’ll also showcase during this concert. Still, the recorder remains her first love.
