Brahms and Poulenc with Maxim Emelyanychev

Maxim Emelyanychev is one of the Concertgebouw Orchestra’s favorite guest conductors. He is a gifted all-around musician, plays the piano and other instruments superbly, and conducts a wide-ranging repertoire. He does so with, among others, the Baroque orchestra Il Pomo d’Oro—of which he is also the artistic director—and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. A chamber music concert with Emelyanychev guarantees not only top-notch quality but also surprising programming.

For the musicians of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, it is an honor to play with this prodigy. The program features two pieces by Brahms and Poulenc, favorites from the chamber music repertoire. And Emelyanychev will undoubtedly pull a few more special tricks out of his hat. Because he’s a magician like no other.
