Maxim Emelyanychev

Maxim Emelyanychev (born 1988 in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia) performs as a conductor, pianist, harpsichordist, organist, and cornetto player. After studying piano and conducting in his hometown, he continued his conducting studies with Gennadi Rozhdestvensky in Moscow.

Following his debut, he conducted international Baroque and symphony orchestras and was appointed principal conductor of the early music ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro in 2013. As a highly sought-after conductor, he made his debut with renowned orchestras such as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Emelyanychev has been chief conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra since 2019. Since his debut with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2021, he has been invited back annually.
