Confluence | Hamid Reza Behzadian & the Alma Quartet
String Quartet and Spoken Word
‘Confluence’ means the merging of streams: the moment when different streams come together. Something new is born here. This program is presented in collaboration with A Brilliant Noise, a new production company that brings together top Dutch musicians and soloists with refugee backgrounds. The Alma Quartet, composed of members of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, will perform alongside a soloist who has just settled in the Netherlands.
Together, they create a performance that combines existing and new music with spoken word. This is what the music of Erich Wolfgang Korngold—a refugee and composer—sounds like. A hundred years ago, he successfully bridged the gap between the European musical tradition and Hollywood film music.
In collaboration with A Brilliant Noise.
