Confluence | A Brilliant Noise
Indian slide guitar, string quartet, and poetry for the 100th IJ-Salon
Confluence Literally means “confluence”: the point where different currents come together to form a new direction. That idea lies at the heart of *Confluence*, the first production by A Brilliant Noise.
On stage are Hamid Reza Behzadian on Indian slide guitar, the Alma Quartet, and actress, writer, and director Jouman Fattal. During this concert, she will recite poetry by Asmae Amaddaou. Kay Sleking is responsible for the artistic direction and arrangements.
Existing and new music, improvisation, and poetry come together in a single program, in which each voice retains its individuality while simultaneously becoming part of a larger whole.
The program also features music from Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s First String Quartet in A, Op. 16. Korngold fled Europe and blended the European musical tradition with a new musical world in Hollywood.
